NEW INITIATIVES
• Guest lecture series
EMI has started a Guest lecture series in which inspirational speakers,
successful entrepreneurs, subject specialists, renowned professional and
management experts are invited. International Fashion Designer Ms. Bibi
Russell delivered a lecture on "Fashion for Development attended by
policy makers, fashion designers, coordinators, and students. Dr. Gyan
Pandey an International HR Consultant delivered lecture on "ABC of
Entrepreneurship" which was attended by the faculty members of State
Level Training Institutions.
• Synergy by Collaboration for Programmes
Institute has signed MoUs with the National Institute for Small
Industries Extension Training (NISIET), Hyderabad, to set up a Regional
Center at EMI for enhancing the training capabilities of the Institute
and with Federation of Indian Exporters Organization (FIEO), New Delhi
for organizing export related training programmes in Rajasthan.
• Programme evaluation Study
To ascertain the effectiveness of the programmes conducted by the
institute study was entrusted to independent agency. NISIET, Hyderabad
-a Govt. of India organisation conducted study for the EDPs conducted in
last two years and found that the establishment rate/ success rate is
38%.
• Chief Minister Livelihoods Development Programmes
Unemployed urban and rural youth will be given training on identified
skills so that they can become employable or self-employed. The
entry-level qualification for technical courses is 10+2. The large
number of youth deprived of technical skills shall be benefited by the
Chief Minister’s Livelihoods Development Programme. These programmes are
sponsored by the Rajasthan Mission on Livelihoods (RMoL)
Some of the identified skills are Multipurpose mechanic, white goods
repairing, Household Electric item repairing, hand-pump repairing,
refrigerator repairing, farm equipment repairing, tractor servicing,
motorcycle repairing, marble tile fitting, shuttering fitters, gang saw
operator, Dhaba /restaurant cooks and waiters, tourist guide etc.
Total 30 skilled-based activities have been identified for the initial
phase to be conducted through 60 training programmes. Major component of
these skill based training is expressional learning where participants
will have hands on practice. Tool kits shall be provided in certain
training programmes with the intention that the trained persons
immediately start earning. The existing Institutional set-up of ITIs,
KVICs, Polytechnics, Universities, Government training Institutions and
capable NGOs shall be utilized in for organising the trainings in
efficient and cost effective manner. |
